Import an activity

Under Devices → Import, select a file from your watch or sports platform. MINDRAW extracts available data and calculates compatible indicators.

Automatic connections

The direct Strava connection is active. Under Devices, you can authorise your account and sync recent activities or a selected date range. See Connect Strava.

Direct connections to Garmin Connect, COROS and Polar remain in development. For these platforms, export the activity and import the file manually into MINDRAW.

Detailed data

The Strava connection retrieves the summary supplied by its API. To preserve GPS points and detailed sensor records, prefer importing the original FIT file when it is available.

Where to find it

  • Desktop: Devices → Import a file.
  • Mobile: More → Import.
  • To find imported files later: Activities.

Most useful data

  • timestamp, duration and moving time;
  • distance and speed;
  • heart rate;
  • altitude;
  • cadence and stride length;
  • power, when supplied by the device;
  • temperature, when recorded.

An activity can still be imported when some sensors are missing. Related indicators will be absent or less precise.

Supported formats

FormatMain use
.fitrecommended format, generally the most complete
.gpxGPS route and heart rate when present
.tcxGPS, heart rate and cadence depending on the export
.csvstructured lap or interval data

Prefer FIT when available because it generally preserves more watch data.

Checks after import

Check distance, duration, pace, heart rate and elevation. A poorly recorded pause, GPS loss or heart-rate sensor dropout can change the interpretation.

info

MINDRAW calculates moving time when speed exceeds 0.5 m/s (1.8 km/h). Stops and data gaps can therefore explain a difference from your watch.

Import a complete interval workout

When a watch exports the warm-up, each repetition and the cool-down as separate files, use Devices → Import → Interval session. Two methods are available:

  • import a .zip archive containing the complete workout;
  • select multiple FIT, GPX or TCX files when only the repetitions need to be grouped.
  1. Put the warm-up, repetitions and cool-down into one ZIP archive.
  2. Open the Interval session tab.
  3. Select Import workout ZIP.
  4. Optionally enter a name, workout type and terrain.
  5. Select Analyse and import workout.

MINDRAW extracts the activities, ignores technical files added by macOS, then uses the timestamps stored in the activities to rebuild their actual order. Terms in filenames, such as echauff, warmup, recup or cooldown, are also used as classification hints.

Each activity is preserved with its original data. The structured workout then distinguishes:

  • the warm-up;
  • the repetitions being analysed and compared;
  • the cool-down.

Only repetitions are included in the repetition count and in consistency, heart-rate drift and fatigue analysis. The warm-up and cool-down remain included in the workout's total distance and duration.

Formats and limits

An archive may contain up to 50 .fit, .gpx or .tcx files, with a maximum uncompressed size of 200 MB. FIT is recommended. The archive must contain at least two identifiable repetitions.

After the import, open Sessions to view the comparison table and workout report. If automatic classification does not match the recorded workout, import only the repetitions using manual multiple-file selection.
